Manufaktuuri 14 apartments blend industrial heritage with modern elegance. Tallinn, 2019
The architectural solution of the buildings is based, on the one hand, on the urban planning considerations set forth by the detailed plan and, on the other, on design choices that honor the site’s history and enhance the sense of place. The latter is reflected in a respectful dialogue with the historic buildings of the former Balti Cotton Mill, whose architectural motifs such as brick facades, vertical volume articulation, window proportions, and rhythmic composition are subtly echoed in the new development.
